Making moded maps

Ok, I havent run a COD server since the original COD what 4 or 5 years ago??  Can someone tell me what it takes to make a moded map or building a map in CoD4?

I have modded stuff in AAO, BF1942 and stuff Just wanted to know if anyone could give me a heads up of what Im getting myself into LOL

very good thing for the community, CoD4 also knocked out BF2 out of the number 3 spot on the gamespy stats. Its still rising and im sure this will only make the game more popular.
